I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 2nd instant (16,618/1902) for- warding by direction of Mr. Secretary Chamberlain an Ordinance (No. 6 of 1902) ralating to the Bankrup toy Law of Hong Kong, together with the Attorney General's Report

thereon.

In reply I am to state for the information of the Secretary of State that the amending Ordinance appears to meet the defects as to the definition of the term "debtor" pointed out by Mr. Muir Mackenzie in his Opinion dated August 15th, 1901, and that the Board of Trade consider that the two Ordinances, viz: No. 2 of 1901 and No. 6 of 1902 may be

properly sanctioned.

The Attorney-General's Report is returned herewith, as

desired.
